Hello
damn, month and month without news, change, coding, updates, … and with a huge upgrade of the xbmc-passion movie provider system… that’s so bad
For the records, i ran out of job and got some family problems… i was not in a good mood for coding.
But, now that I’m back on job, back on coding, and with plenty of extra time (my wife is gone…) i’ll be on the go for coding EzTvix new functionality and updates.
On another side, as “ezTVIX” is mainly related to “Tvix” products from Dvico, the application will remain focused on Tvix. Mainly because i only have a Tvix 6500-A. In the meantime, I’ve bought some Tvix S1 for my friends, and i plan to buy one for me as well. The GUI is quite different, but still in the Dvico classic Style.
I’ll try to post news on a regular basis (hope so) to inform you of the different steps i’ll follow in the coding and also for the future release of the application.
Stay tuned…

Version 0.2 has only a few days of life, and here is already a new version… No really big changes, it’s only an intermediary version which allow to retrieve movies informations in French or in English (as set in the options).
Here is the link : http://www.eztvix.info/files/eztvix_v0202.zip
At last, you’ll be able to put your hands on the 0.2 release. With this version, Full movie management and complete XBMC passion API integration will allow you to create nice movie backgrounds with the ability to include fanarts (using the BBT-XT theme).
I let you discover the different possibilities, and feel free to leave a message if you find some bugs. I’ve also left some tooltips on some items (buttons, pictures, …). Just leave the mouse cursor on the item, and the tooltip will show.
I’m currently installing a virtual windows XP for testing purpose. I need to fix the installation process before releasing version 0.2. Stay tuned, i’ll release the download link later today.

I’ve had a talk with the author of the BBT-XT theme for Tvixie (the one i ported on EzTvix), BigBoss, the author of the famous blog http://hd6600.over-blog.fr/
i would like to thanks him for the nice work done on his original theme, and, maybe for the future work he’ll produce for EzTvix.
I would like to add some info to the previous message posted on this blog, about the way to contact me if you wan’t to create a Theme for EzTvix. Just leave me a comment here, i’ll send you a mail to the registered adress you use in the blog.
In a previous news, i told you that version 0.2 was close to release.
And this has never been so true. The plan is to rlease 0.2 before the end of this month.
Anyway i’m currently looking for someone (or more) with graphical abilities for creating one (or more) theme for next version. The purpose is to give EzTvix more functionalities by adding theme(s).
I’m a crap in drawing or creating enhanced graphics/design, but i manage to adapt some theme from other programs such as “BBT-XT” theme from “tvixie”.
I’va added the “Fanart” option in EzTvix. All you need is th choose (or not) a fanart in the dedicated windows when searching the informations about a particular movie :
There are some minor bugs that i need to remove and the first stable and functionnal version of the application and the theme builder will be gold. As mentionned in this post, my target is end of JULY 2010.
Some of you have reported a bug during the installation of EzTvix with the “Framework 4.0 client”.
EzTvix need the Framework 4.0. During the installation, the Framework 4.0 client was installed, but never detected. ><
The problem is, in fact, the version installed is different from the version he tried to detect (thanks Microsoft Visual Studio).
To resolve the bug, just download the correct framework @ Microsoft :
In the future releases I’ll remove the buggy framework detection.
